support-letterThe Coalition Organized for Reliable Energy (CORE) supports improvements to the Wisconsin transmission system that are needed to ensure the delivery of reliable, low-cost electricity to Wisconsin customers.

After two years of study, American Transmission Co. (ATC) announced that a 345 kV transmission line, Badger Coulee, from the La Crosse area to Dane County will provide multiple benefits to Wisconsin electric consumers.  These benefits include improved electric system reliability, economic savings for Wisconsin utilities and electric consumers, and improved access to a diverse portfolio of competitive energy resources.

In keeping with its mission to improve Wisconsin’s energy infrastructure, CORE intends to support the need for the proposed Badger Coulee project.

CORE will continue to represent the thousands of Wisconsin business and residents that will benefit from an improved transmission infrastructure by presenting a unified voice for energy improvements and providing opportunities for members to participate in the ongoing planning and public outreach activities for the Badger Coulee project.

Tom Still (President of the Wisconsin Technology Council; CORE member) offers his take on why Badger Coulee is critical to

Wisconsin’s energy future.
